While at the Temple University School of Medicine Clinical Campus at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital, James T. McCormick, DO, performed extensive clinical research and produced numerous publications. His research has been presented at such prestigious venues as the Society of the American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons Annual Meeting, Society for Thoracic Surgery Annual Meeting, the International Symposium on Laparoscopic Obesity Surgery and the Annual Clinical Congress of the American College of Surgeons, Surgical Research Forum. He is the recipient of multiple awards and honors for teaching residents and for his research on perioperative care, diagnostic modalities and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
A dedicated educator, Dr. McCormick is a faculty member of the Temple University School of Medicine Clinical Campus at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital General Surgery Residency and Colorectal Surgery Fellowship. He has been invited to participate as faculty at local and national training seminars designed to teach practicing general and colorectal surgeons advanced minimally invasive techniques and laparoscopic surgery, and has also published book chapters on both colorectal cancer and advanced laparoscopy.
Dr. McCormick is devoted to providing a multidisciplinary approach to complex and routine conditions involving the gastrointestinal tract, colon and rectum. Additionally, he has a particular interest and expertise in advanced laparoscopic surgery and is involved in researching the role of minimal access surgery in the treatment of these diseases and improving the way we train surgeons in these techniques.

Jaime O’Neil, PA-C, joined The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in 2004.
Ms. O'Neil has been a dedicated surgical physician assistant for almost 10 years. She assists with major general surgery and colorectal surgical operations and also provides outpatient and inpatient care to Pittsburgh Colorectal Surgeons patients.
Previously, Ms. O'Neil worked for the private practice group, Warren Surgeons, in Warren, Pennsylvania. Her clinical experience with this practice included assisting with major general surgery operations as we;; as outpatient and inpatient responsibilities.
Ms. O’Neil received a Bachelor of Science degree from Gannon University, graduating from the Physician Assistant Program with honors. She subsequently completed the Sandhill Esophageal Manometry and Ambulatory pH Course.
Ms. O'Neil holds National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification, a professional accomplishment indicating the achievement and maintenance of established levels of knowledge and clinical skills.
Her current professional memberships include the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants.
